Privacy Policy

This policy describes data processing on the Bachata FM website. Listening to the radio, reading news and voting are free and do not require a public profile or an email address to vote. Credential-based sign-in is reserved for the administrative team.

Voting without registration does not mean that no technical data is processed. When you vote, Firebase Authentication creates a technical session with an identifier, without asking listeners for a name or password.

Contact: name, email address, inquiry topic and message; phone number and company or brand if you choose to provide them. We also store the submission date and whether the team has read the message. Do not include passwords, payment information or other sensitive data.

Votes: session identifier, song identifier, positive or negative vote and update timestamp. We store ranking totals and request-limit records to reduce abuse.

Administration: Firebase manages team credentials and we use a permission flag to control access to the dashboard.

Connections: providers delivering the website, images or audio may process IP addresses, browser information and request logs needed to operate and protect their services.

We use this data to play the radio, remember preferences, record and update votes, limit abusive requests, respond to inquiries and protect administrative access. Messages are saved in the dashboard for the team to review; the form does not automatically send an email notification.

Individual votes and messages are not publicly displayed. The site displays aggregate ranking counts.

The player saves your volume preference in local storage. Firebase maintains the authentication session in your browser and the site may save your language preference in a cookie.

You can remove cookies and site data through your browser. This may reset preferences and disconnect your browser from earlier votes; it does not itself delete records stored on our servers.

The current website does not activate Google Analytics or include its own advertising tracking system. External sites you visit through links have their own practices.

We use Google Firebase for authentication, databases and storage, and website hosting and delivery providers such as Vercel. Audio and now-playing information are served through unchin.live using AzuraCast. Cover art and other images may load from external servers.

Providers receive data needed for their functions and may process it in countries other than yours. Social media and sponsor links lead to services with their own policies. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and other people’s rights.

Firebase: privacy and security

Bachata FM currently has no automatic deletion period configured for messages, votes or technical sessions. Retention depends on service management, handling inquiries, preventing abuse and applicable obligations. Providers may apply their own retention periods to technical logs.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion, and exercise other rights such as objection, restriction or portability where applicable. We may need enough information to locate your data and verify that it belongs to you. Do not send passwords or session tokens.

If you have only voted without identifying yourself, we may not be able to locate your records using your name or email. Clearing browser data also does not automatically link an earlier session. Email privacy@bachata.fm or use our contact form for help.

Dashboard access is restricted to authorized administrators. We use access controls and operation validation; no transmission or storage system offers absolute security.

The service is not specifically directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate steps.
